At Wheel Freedom, we understand how important it is to have peace of mind. As soon as you have completed our easy order process, a Sunrise Medical wheelchair will be on its way to you by next working day delivery, provided it is ordered by 3.30pm.
Your wheelchair will arrive in a custom made Wheel Freedom box. After removing your wheelchair the box will collapse for easy storage. When you are finished with your wheelchair just wheel it back into the box ready for collection.
You will be charged every fortnight (please see our
pricing page). When you are finished with the wheelchair, simply let us know and we will arrange collection.
In the unlikely event that you have a problem with your wheelchair, let us know and we aim to have a replacement with you next working day. At this time we will collect the faulty wheelchair.

What are the wheelchair's specifications?
How do I order a wheelchair?Wheelchairs can be ordered by clicking on the 'hire now' button at the top of the page.
You will need to register with us. When you order your wheelchair we will require your billing address, credit card details, contact telephone number and delivery address. Once the order is complete you will receive a confirmation email.

How is payment collected?Payment will be collected from the beginning of your hire period every 2 weeks by a credit card subscription service.
Once you have requested the collection of your wheelchair, no further payments will be taken. Any unused hire period cannot be refunded.
After 1 year you have the option to own the chair at no additional cost.

How secure are my credit card details?All payment is dealt with securely. Please see

Will I have to pay a deposit?No. We do not require a deposit in order to keep our service more affordable.
Is there a minimum or maximum hire period?No. You can hire your wheelchair from us for as long as you want. When you no longer need the wheelchair simply let us know and we will arrange collection. However there is a minimum charge of £24.
After 1 year you have the option to own the wheelchair for no additional cost.
How and when will my wheelchair be delivered?Your wheelchair will be delivered by a national courier in a custom-made Wheel Freedom box. Delivery costs £29.99: this price includes both delivery and collection of the wheelchair at the end of the hire period.
If we have received your order by 3.30pm on a working day, your chair will be dispatched the same day and will arrive before 1pm on the next working day.
If you do not require your wheelchair straight away please phone us on 0800 0258005, we can then schedule a delivery day and reserve a chair for you.
If you live in the Scottish Highlands or do not live within mainland Britain please contact us as there will be an additional delivery charge. For further details please see the

Please retain the box for collection. It is collapsible and can be stored easily.
Do I need to assemble my wheelchair?No, the chairs are ready to use. Simply unfold the wheelchair and click on the footplates.
What happens if my wheelchair breaks?Before dispatch all Wheel Freedom wheelchairs have been through a Sunrise Medical approved inspection.
However, if you do experience a problem with your wheelchair please contact us. We will help you to fix the problem or arrange your next day replacement service.
We will make a charge if the wheelchair has been broken by deliberate misuse. For further details, please see our terms and conditions.
I’ve finished with my wheelchair. How do I arrange collection?Login to your Wheel Freedom account and click on the ‘Return Chair’ option.
You will be asked to fill in the collection address and all payments will finish when you submit this. One of the Wheel Freedom team with then be in contact to arrange the collection - this will normally be on the next working day.
Is there a manufacturer’s guarantee?All wheelchairs are fully guaranteed for the duration of the hire period. This forms part of the next day replacement service.
How old will my wheelchair be?All of our fleet of wheelchairs are less than 1 year old and are thoroughly cleaned, serviced and inspected by Sunrise Medical approved technicians before being made available for hire.
I am disabled; can I hire a wheelchair without paying VAT?Wheelchair hire is available to those who are 'chronically sick or disabled' without VAT.
According to HM Revenue and Customs a person is ‘chronically sick or disabled’ if he/she is a person:
- with a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities;
- with a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes; or
- who is terminally ill.
It does not include a frail elderly person who is otherwise able-bodied or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.
