I just wanted to thank you so much for the service you provided me. It was second to none. I had been really let down by the NHS at a very stressful time. I was released from hospital following ACL reconstruction and microfracture to my left knee. I knew that I would be non weight bearing for at least 6 weeks and was told that the NHS would provide a wheelchair for my use during my recovery. The local District Nurse Team refused to assist me. I have to say I was depressed and felt totally isolated at the thought of 6 weeks stuck indoors. That is when your company stepped up to the mark. The wheelchair I ordered arrived this morning before 10 am as promised. I am delighted with it. I can't tell you how much I am thrilled with it! I am really impressed with the service and with the wheelchair, which was easy to unfold and far easier to push than the heavy, cumbersome hospital wheelchairs. Even the packaging was easy!
My husband is only 32 years old and previously fit and healthy. However, on our return from a weekend surfing with our three young children in Cornwall recently, he suddenly and unexpectedly suffered a massive stroke due to a clot on the brain. As such, he is unable to speak and has lost the use of his right arm and leg. This has been devastating for us as a family and he is predicted to stay in hospital for at least 8-10 weeks with a recovery time of up to 2 years in total.
The wheelchair you have provided is an absolute godsend. It has given me the freedom to take my husband for walks to the park and got us out of the stuffy hospital into the beautiful June sunshine. I had quickly given up on the hospital wheelchairs as I am only 5'3 and quite petite so was unable to push the awful, heavy chairs the porters use.
When such an unexpected and life shattering event occurs such as a stroke, it's the small things that make a difference and just having a light, portable wheelchair to take my husband out for walks, in the morning and evening, has made a huge difference to our lives. I've found it even easier to fold than our pushchair!
Thank you for such an affordable and excellent service in the face of a crisis! I have left some of your leaflets in the stroke ward 'quiet room' so that other patients might benefit.

Dear Wheelfreedom, I have just finished hiring a wheelchair from you after about four months and just wanted to give you some feedback about the service. When I first needed the wheelchair it was during the heavy snow and ice during the early part of this year and the delivery van had some difficulty getting through. Your staff member Giles (I do hope I have got hs name right) knew that I needed the chair to get to an urgent hospital appointment and he could not have done more to help me. He stayed in constant touch, calling back often with updates so I knew what was going on and his diligence and persistence ensured that the chair arrived hours before I needed it despite all the adverse conditions. I really feel that he went out of his way to maintain excellent communication and to get the job done. I could not have hoped for better service at what was such a stressful time. Generally, the chair itself was brilliant, the stabilisers give you confidence to get used to it on your own and the leg elevator meant that the healing wasn't compromised by the need to get out and about. The packaging was solid and the directions clear so that when it came to returning it to you many months later it was completely simple. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the service to anyone else. In particular I would like to thank Giles for all his help and hard work at the start. I wish to let you know how impressed I have been so far with your service. After breaking my ankle in two places whilst 32weeks pregnant, I was advised by my physiotherapist and occupational therapist that I needed a wheelchair following surgery. They had both advised me of a local service that would provide me with one but, on enquiry, I found them to be very expensive.

I found your website through Google, and was very impressed with the site itself. It was very clear and easy to use and the chair hire fee seemed good value for money. When I phoned, I spoke to a very polite and helpful man. Although I lived just outside of the next day delivery area, I was told they would do everything in their power to get the chair to me the next day. I have been very impressed with the service.

Whilst attending fracture clinic, I have received numerous compliments from the staff about the chair and enquiries as to where I hired it from. My occupational therapist has also complimented on the quality of the chair and has asked me for your contact details, which I have happily provided.

Although I will still require the chair for some weeks yet, I wanted to say a big thank you. It has made dealing with a fractured ankle, whilst heavily pregnant, a lot easier than I first anticipated.

Dear Wheelfreedom, I have just had a fantastic trip to Seville to see my daughter thanks to you. I have ME [not too bad at the moment]. I keep myself well by walking every day. I was worried because I so much wanted to see all the sights in Seville with my daughter. Although I can walk ok, It was vital that I wasn't on my feet for too long. The facility to have leg extensions was welcomed in the first 6 weeks of wearing a full cast and enabled me to go to concerts and conferences and to get to hospital appointments easily. We were glad that we have a people carrier and my husband was able to get the chair in and out of the car.

Feedback on Wheelfreedom lightweight wheelchair
I have been very impressed with every aspect of the hiring of the above. Until I needed the short term use of a wheel chair I had no idea what was available. Your product was perfect! Things I particularly liked:
1) The ease of hire - Website was clear, easy to use and ordering simple.
2) Speed of delivery - fantastic! Next day delivery. These things are often needed in a crisis so speed of delivery can be crucial.
3) Price - The price made the whole thing do-able. I used it in half term to do university open day tours with my daughter who broke her foot just before halfterm and was on crutches. The wheelchair meant we were able to keep all our commitments. The price just about made it acceptable. If had been been any more expensive I probably couldn't have justified the expenditure.
4) The packaging - this was brilliant both to open and take the wheelchair out of but also to re package.
5) The chair itself - also brilliant! Very, very easy to assemble (virtually no assembly needed). Easy to use, easy to push, comfortable to sit in. Very lightweight so not too back breaking to hoist in and out of the car. Again for people for whom this is a one off short term proposition who have probably never had anything to do with wheelchairs before this product is perfect.
6) Loved the fact that when I rang a human being answered - and a very nice polite helpful one at that! (Think I spoke to Henry a couple of times.)
All in all I have been thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. Many congratulations to everyone at Wheelfreedom. It is very very rare these days to come across an impressive service. I hope I won't need to use a wheelchair again but if I did I would certainly use you again. Many thanks.

I unfortunately managed to break my leg falling down the stairs and being unable to put weight on my leg for at least 8 weeks decided to hire a wheel chair. The wheelchair was booked over the internet, arrived within 24 hours was in pristine condition apart, from a lever which had sustained some damage. We called the free phone number, spoke with a really pleasant man and a new footrest was dispatched and received within another 24 hours, no fuss, no quibble. The chair was fairly comfortable, well maintained and robust. I really hope I never have to use a wheelchair again, but if I do I would have absolutely no hesitation in using your services again. Having broken my leg & fresh from an operation that inserted a nail into my Tibia I needed a wheelchair to allow me to attend (amongst other things) a family funeral.

I had previously hired wheelchairs locally on two occasions prior to using Wheel Freedom, only to find they were both past their sell by date, were uncomfortable, had under inflated tyres (very annoying) & had leg rests that would tax the patience of a saint whilst trying to attach them (also totally baffling she who must be obeyed).

I would like to thank Wheel Freedom for providing exactly what it said it would provide (an increasingly rare thing these days) at an affordable rate, I thought £12 per week was a typo until it was confirmed with a phone call. I had previously paid £5 per day.

The selected wheelchair arrived before midday, after placing the order late in the afternoon the previous day. The wheelchair appeared to be almost new, was comfortable, with leg rests that were so easy to attach that I thought I'd got it wrong (she who must be obeyed was also impressed). Most importantly the tyres were 'solid' and therefore could not be under inflated.

I'm not planning on the use of a wheelchair in the future, but if I find myself needing to hire one I'll be ordering one from Wheel Freedom.

We had been faced with the problem of getting my very elderly mother to a residential home for a pre-visit and knew we could not use a car. All efforts locally to borrow a wheel chair or arrange specialist transport failed (mostly because people did not bother to return calls). I then though of the web and found your company. With wheel chair and an effciient local wheelchair taxi service our problem was solved and Mum travelled in comfort. Sadly we could not use the chair for longer as my mother died suddenly.

My grandaughter's ankle is now fine. Your wheelchair enabled her to attend school everyday and also keep up her outside interests (Brownies etc). It was very light and easy for her parents and us to cart around and also very modern and new looking.
Although she had helpers to push her when she first had the accident, after a week she was able most of the time to get around on her own.

Your service is second to none and the cost of the hire very reasonable indeed.

Having two aged grandmothers and wishing to give them a good time is somewhat restrictive without a wheelchair. Wheel Freedom was easy to find on the internet, the website easy to navigate around and the service excellent. The wheelchair was delivered directly to my door in an easy to pullout box, although the instructions for the wheelchair were also included within the box, the wheelchair was very easy to assemble without the need to read through the instructions. It was brand new and lightweight and fit into the boot of a Smart Car with ease. When the wheelchair was no longer needed, Wheel Freedom came to collect it!
