Pride have recently unveiled the new Quantum 1450 bariatric powerchair, which we preview here. Set to be released later this year, it offers a hefty 42 stone weight capacity, significantly above the 35.7 stone that their next best chair can cater to.
When released, the 1450 will offer the highest weight capacity for a powerchair in our range, finally providing a replacement for the popular Quantum 1420 and 1650 models that were retired in the last few years. Synergy seating allows seat widths of up to 32 inches, and depths of up to 28 inches to be accommodated, comfortably catering to larger sizes.
As is common amongst bariatric chairs, the 1450 features front-wheel drive so weight is distributed for maximum stability, as well as to offer excellent manoeuvrability. Large 70Ah batteries provide the power needed, while the 1450 is more than capable outdoors.
The 1450 features the styling the Quantum range is renowned for, while a full range of rehab seating and electronics are offered, allowing the chair to be customised to the user's needs.
