Quantum TB Flex Seating

Invalid Date

We're profiling the new TB Flex seating system from Pride, which bridges the gap between basic "one size fits all" powerchairs seats and expensive prescriptive seating such as Sunrise Medical's JAY, Invacare's Modulite, and Quantum's Tru-Comfort. This allows it to provide a precise fit whilst remaining a cost effective option.

Adjustable to your exact size, the seat width can be set from 15 - 22 inches in 1 inch increments, while the depth can be set from 15 - 20 inches. Having a seat that matches your size enables it to fit your body, providing more comfort, whilst also ensuring it provides the necessary support to keep you in the right position.

While the TB Flex seating system comes as standard with a tension-adjustable back, it can be upgraded to a high-back padded one if necessary. Posture can be further assisted with the fitting of Quantum's Stealth lateral supports and headrests, while both armrest and legrest options are available. With a firm seat base, more specialist cushions can be also fitted should pressure relief be required, although the backrest range is limited.

Both manual and powered positioning upgrades are available, including tilt and recline, which are rarely found on more basic chairs. The controls are further configurable with the standard VR2 controller upgradable to advanced R-Net controls or Quantum's new Q-Logic 2 control system if desired.

While this may sound like the TB Flex matches the more expensive prescriptive seating systems on the market, it should be noted that the range of options available for it remains comparatively small, while more clinical seating such as specialist backrests and higher degrees of tilt and recline are not available.

Nonetheless, this allows the TB Flex seat to cater to those who need more than an "out of the box" powerchair will provide, but who do not need the advanced seating options found on more expensive systems.

The TB Flex seating system is available on both the Quantum Q4 and the Quantum Aspen, providing a choice of either mid-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. For further information on these powerchairs and the TB Flex seating system, please speak to our product specialists on 0800 025 8005.
