If you are hiring from us, or leasing through the Motability scheme, insurance and breakdown cover are included in the service. However, if you are purchasing a wheelchair or scooter, then protecting yourself and your equipment with insurance is a key consideration.
Wheeelfreedom have partnered with Fish Insurance, who have provided specialist insurance for over forty years. Fish offer insurance, breakdown cover and extended warranty policies, as well as a host of other policies such as independent living insurance, adapted home insurance and specialist medical insurance for those with existing medical conditions. Their comprehensive policies offer exceptional value, and are backed up by a professional UK-based customer service team. All policies are available in a range of durations from one up to three years.
We are able to offer three months' free insurance with all scooters and powered wheelchairs purchased from us - this allows you to get mobile straight away, knowing you are safely covered. Additionally, all long-term hire customers benefit from their own individual Mobility Extra policy as part of the hire.
Their Mobility Scooter and Powered Wheelchair Insurance covers, amongst others:
- Accidental damage
- Loss or damage caused by theft or attempted theft
- World-wide cover (excluding North America)
- Third-party liability up to £2 million
- Personal accident benefit
- Personal effects
- No excess
Their Mobility Extra Insurance also includes 24/7 breakdown and emergency cover, to get you home should you break down within the UK.
Extended Warranty gives you cover against unforeseen electrical and mechanical failure outside the manufacturer's warranty. It covers call-out charges, labour and parts. It can be purchased for both new and used products.
