The solid aluminium frame of the RubiX XL ensures that the wheelchair is durable yet still lightweight, weighing only 15.5kg. While larger than other wheelchairs we hire, it still easily folds down for transportation. A handy clip keeps the wheelchair in its folded position so that it takes up as little space as possible in a car.
Our Heavy User wheelchair has large back wheels to allow the possibility of self propulsion, and it is equally easy to push using the handlebars. The wheelchair is perfectly functional for pavements and other paved outdoor areas, while anti-tips at the back ensure the stability of the wheelchair and the safety of the user. The wheelchair features removable armrests, to make transfer to and from the seat as simple as possible.
Options and Accessories
Should you require an elevated leg rest to accompany the wheelchair, please see our Heavy User Wheelchair with Elevated Leg Rest. The wheelchair comes with a padded sling to ensure the comfort of the user; should an additional cushion be required for those spending longer periods of time in the wheelchair, we are able to hire these for an additional £2 (ex VAT) per week.
