Sunrise Medical Quickie Jive F Powerchair
- Top outdoor performance including off-road
- Extremely manoeuvrable indoors
- JAY seating options
- Advanced power controls
The Quickie Jive F is a top performing outdoor and indoor powerchair made by market leaders Sunrise Medical that offers excellent performance, comfort and safety. For those that don't want to compromise on indoor and outdoor performance, it is an ideal solution - with off-road capabilities outdoors, while the front-wheel drive keeps it manoeuvrable when used inside. JAY seating options allow the Jive to be set up to provide the comfort and support needed by the user, and a full range of powered options, including lift, tilt and recline, are available.
Front wheel drive helps the Jive climb kerbs of up to 4 inches, as well as providing a smooth descent down kerbs of the same height, with no jolts or forward pitching. High-torque motors allow the Jive to tackle slopes of up to 6°, and it is capable of speeds of 6 mph, although the front wheel drive prevents the Jive F from managing the higher 8 mph speed that others in the Jive family are capable of. The seating position adds more weight to the drive wheels, increasing traction, and resulting in the Jive being the top performing powerchair outdoors, capable of managing even rugged terrain.
Front-wheel drive means that the Quickie Jive F is super-manoeuvrable, with a tight turning radius of 70 cm. This means the Jive F has no compromise between indoor and outdoor usage - it excels at both. The overall width of 25 - 26 inches (depending on options) allows the Jive to comfortably fit through doorways and most narrow spaces. However, front-wheel drive is less intuitive than either rear or mid-wheel drive, and some users may struggle to familiarise themselves with controlling the Jive F, particularly as it will "fish-tail" when turning.
The Jive comes as standard with JAY Comfort cushion and backrest, and a wide range of seating options and adjustments are available. These include changes to the seat width and depth, the length, angle and type of legrests, and the backrest angle - the options are far too many to list, so we would recommend calling us to find out. The low seat height helps with access under tables and transportation, and a 90° knee angle is possible.
As would be expected on a high-end wheelchair, a large number of powered options are available. This includes powered lift and tilt, powered back recline and powered elevating leg rests - these help ensure the comfort of the user, as well as assisting with posture. Advanced controls including the R-Net controller pictured allow all these advanced features to be easily accessed and used.
Transit approved, the Jive F has been successfully crash tested, and is therefore capable of being used as a seat in a vehicle when transporting the wheelchair user. Tie-down points allow it to be easily and safely secured for transport.
The Jive F is a high-performing front-wheel drive powerchair, ideal for people that want a top performing wheelchair for extensive use both indoors and out, and who are already familiar with front-wheel drive. It offers no compromises on performance or comfort, and can be set up to exactly suit the needs of the user. A low-maintenance wheelchair, the Jive F is also modular, allowing adjustments to be made, and new features fitted at a later date - meaning that if your needs change, the Jive F can be changed to suit them. We would also recommend looking at the more modern Quantum 4Front if considering a front-wheel drive powerchair, as this is more compact, stylish and has more advanced powered seating options available.
We offer the similar Jive M on short-term hire with Jay Comfort cushioning, and powered lift and tilt also available. This is ideal for those that wish to try out the capabilities of a Sunrise Medical Jive powerchair prior to either purchasing the Jive F or hiring on a long-term basis. We can then carry out an assessment, allowing us to provide more prescriptive seating options such as J3 cushions and backrests for those after a bespoke wheelchair.
The Quickie Jive F has now been discontinued and replaced by the new Quickie Q500 F and Q700 F - we would recommend the Q-series instead, as they are more modern powerchairs featuring improved suspension and styling.
