Pride Quest Folding Mobility Scooter
Pride's Quest scooter is a modern fully-folding mobility scooter. Made in the same factory as TGA's Minimo, it has just a few differences, including LED lights andomitting armrests.
The Quest can be folded in seconds using just one hand, with only the lightweight battery needing removal. Once folded, the Quest measures 29 x 19 x 17 inches, making it one of the most compact scooters available. It can be stood upright to further save on space, and uniquely can be wheeled around, saving on lifting.
Weighing just 24 kg without batteries, it can be lifted into and out of a car. However, this is significantly heavier than standard boot scooters that can disassemble, which usually have a heaviest part weighing no more than 15 kg. This means that realistically the Quest needs two able-bodied people to lift into and out of a car, meaning it is not ideal for those looking to do this regularly, or by themselves - unless you have a car boot hoist fitted, in which case it is the perfect partner. However, it is perfect for those regularly going on coach or cruise holidays, as it takes up so little storage space.
The Quest comes as standard with super-lightweight Lithium Ion batteries weighing just 2.65 kg, and also comes with a different tiller design to the Minimo, including built-in front and rear LED headlights.
The distinct wheel arrangement, with twin front wheels, gives the Quest the manoeuvrability of a three-wheel scooter - including a stunning 32 inch turning radius, while the twin wheels and anti-tips ensures it doesn't have the stability issues found on some three-wheel scooters.
The standard Quest is available in black or red, and notably does not include armrests as standard, which differs from the Minimo. This helps to make the scooter more compact, lightweight and easier to fold - however, a version in white with armrests is available.
With little difference between the Quest and the Minimo, the Quest is best for those looking for a compact scooter with headlights. Additionally, while the Quest is cheaper, it has a standard one year warranty, in contrast to the two year warranty on the Minimo. It is available both for purchase and long-term hire.
