Invacare Freedom NXT

Invacare's Freedom NXT is a highly configurable tilt in space wheelchair designed for paediatric use. It can accommodate a range of seating systems, allowing it to cater to children with complex seating requirements, while the chassis is lightweight and foldable for convenient transport.

Product Description

Folding Frame

It's rare for tilt in space wheelchairs to be easily transportable - most have large rigid frames and require a specialist adapted vehicle. The Freedom NXT features a light, folding aluminium frame. Simple remove the seating, pop off the quick-release wheels and detachable legrests, flip the armrests back and fold the backrest down, and then it folds up in the same way as a conventional wheelchair to a compact package. The Freedom NXT then weighs just 10 kg - an easily manageable lifting weight.

For those occasions when you want to use the wheelchair for occupied transport, such as on a school minibus, the Freedom NXT can be used for this, as it is fully crash tested.

Configurable Seating

The Freedom NXT is designed to accommodate third-party seating systems, and as ordered comes just with the wheelchair chassis - the photos show just one of the many seating systems that can be fitted. We can assess for and supply a wide range of seating systems, ensuring we can always provide a bespoke seating solution for your child.

The chassis of the wheelchair is highly adjustable, within a range of seat widths and depths, allowing the wheelchair to grow alongside your child.

45° tilt provides the highest levels of pressure relief, and can be operated by the flip-up foot pedal as standard, or optional hand levers if preferred.

Colours

16 bright frame colours are available, ensuring your child's wheelchair stands out, and won't have the drab "clinical" look that some wheelchairs can have.

Our Verdict

The Freedom NXT offers a great blend of colour, configurable seating, growth adjustability and transportability. We recommend trying it alongside Ki Mobility's Little Wave Arc, a similarly transportable paediatric tilt in space wheelchair.
