Opera Beds
Wheelfreedom have partnered with prestigious British bed manufacturers Opera for their comprehensive range of richly-featured profiling beds. All of their beds are highly functional, with adjustable positioning, and can raise and lower. They come in a range of sizes, and can be configured with a selection of complementary accessories such as overbed tables.
Unlike traditional electrically adjusting beds, when tend to look rather dated, Opera's beds feature contemporary styling, which also sets them apart from the "clinical" look of hospital beds. This allows them to fit seamlessly into any bedroom, and a range of finishes ensure they will match your décor.
Profiling Beds
Profiling beds help to assist the elderly and disabled with mobility and support, whilst also helping carers with nursing thanks to their height-adjustability. They allow you to raise the backrest up to sit up in bed, as well as raising the footrest and knee break to elevate your legs.
All the functions are operated independently by a wired handset that can be clipped to the side of your bed.

Signature Low Footboard Profiling Bed
As the name suggests, the differentiating feature on this bed is its low footboard, which sits below the mattress. This minimalist footboard provides unrestricted access to the end of the bed, both for transfers and for visibility. This makes it ideal for residential environments, where for example it allows the unobstructed watching of a television whilst sat up in bed.
It is available in three widths, single, wide single, and small double, and also with optional length extension. Like other beds in Opera's Signature collection, it features their All-in-One height adjustability, allowing the bed to be lowered to the floor or raised to the ideal height for a carer, with a range of 24.5 - 73 cm.
Available as standard in either an Oak or Walnut finish, the Low Footboard bed can alternatively be built with a choice of over 200 other wood finishes, to match your bedroom, if required.
Our Verdict
The Signature Low Footboard is worth considering as an alternative to the standard Signature Profiling Bed, when used in a house rather than a care home, where the unrestricted access is more likely to be of use. It also comes in slightly cheaper, and is the lowest-cost Opera profiling bed we offer.
