Permobil K300 PS Junior Powerchair

Permobil's K300 is designed to help children join in the fun with a powered wheelchair that will last. It features front wheel drive to help your child get close enough to interact with their environment, and configurable seating that can grow with them.

Product Description

Seating that grows

The Permobil K300 PS Junior Powerchair features highly configurable seating that can be set up to precisely match your child's postural needs, as well as providing outstanding comfort. All aspects of the seating can be customised, from seat cushion to backrest, armrests to legrests, and a range of postural supports such as headrests, harnesses, thoracic supports and armrests.

A key feature is that the seating can be adjusted to grow as your child does, meaning your K300 can last for years while keeping your child comfortably supported.

Optional powered lift and tilt are available on the K300 PS Junior, the lift helping your child to engage with the environment and be at eye level with their friends, while the tilt provides pressure relief and a more relaxed seating position.

Drive Base

The K300 features front-wheel drive, which is great for manoeuvring around tight spaces such as classrooms, but is just as capable outdoors. The front wheel drive helps your child to get in close to their surroundings, aiding with access to desks, tables and suchlike. The K300 is a sturdy powerchair - as Permobil themselves say, it's built to "withstand the odd knock or bump"!

R-Net controls are standard on the K300 - these are highly adaptable, ensuring your child will be able to easily master their powerchair. Special controls are available too, for example if your child struggles with a joystick - we've set up tray tables with button controls before. Dual or attendant-only controls can also be configured if required.

A choice of six striking colours lets you personalise your child's K300 to ensure it stands out - purple, pink, red and blue are the most popular.

Our Verdict

Permobil's K300 is an impressive paediatric powerchair, its chunky tyres and front-wheel drive configuration helping to ensure your child isn't left out of activities. There are some children's powerchairs with smaller bases - notably Quantum's Edge 3 Stretto and Sunrise Medical's Zippie Q300 M Mini Kids, both of which have the option for more powered seating functions. We would recommending considering those models alongside the K300.

Prescriptive paediatric powerchairs such as this are built to order following an assessment with one of our Prescriptive Assessors. They are available with a wide range of customisation options, including powered seating functions and control and safety upgrades, and these can affect the price - our assessors will run through all the options at your assessment. As a general guideline, opting for multiple powered seating functions can add significantly to the cost of the wheelchair; however it is possible to get a fully functioning and desirable chair at the base price!

Paediatric powered wheelchairs will often qualify for zero-rated VAT. If the child using the wheelchair has a permanent disability, terminal illness or chronic sickness then they will be eligible for 0% VAT. Our Prescriptive Assessors will be able to answer any questions you may have about VAT.
