Zippie Q300 M Mini Kids

The Zippie Q300 M Mini Kids is the flagship paediatric powerchair from Sunrise Medical. It features an incredibly narrow base, and combines with seating that can grow with your child - ensuring it will last for years to come.

Product Description

Seating

The paediatric Sedeo Lite seating on the Q300 M Mini Kids can, without additional parts, grow in width from 28 - 40 cm and depth from 26 - 40 cm. This allows for regular adjustments so that it always provides a perfect and comfortable fit over the years.

The seating system can cater to a wide range of requirements, and every aspect of it is configurable - from cushions and backrests to legrests, armrests, headrests and other postural supports. For those with advanced postural needs, JAY seating or other third-party seating can be fitted, as well as Whitmyer headrests, bodypoint harnesses and more. The modular nature means that it can be adapted over time, continuously meeting your child's needs.

Powered seating functions, including lift, tilt and recline are available. The lifter comes with C-Me technology, allowing your child to drive at walking pace when fully elevated - keeping them at eye level with their friends, and better able to interact with their environment.

Power Base

The compact base of the Q300 M Mini allows it to manoeuvre around the tight spaces a child might encounter, such as the classroom. As well as a compact length, it features a market-leading 52 cm width - combined with true mid-wheel drive, it can literally turn on the spot.

The Q300 is just as capable outdoors, featuring all-wheel independent suspension for a comfortable ride, and safe and stable handling.

A range of control systems are available, and popular options include dual controls to allow an attendant to take charge when required, and a remote stop that can be activated at a range of up to 30 metres. Special controls can also be fitted, including tray-mounted buttons for those children who struggle with joysticks.

Our Verdict

The Zippie Q300 M Mini Kids is an outstanding paediatric wheelchair, ideal for younger children, and able to be adjusted to fit for many years. We would recommend trying it alongside Quantum's Edge 3 Stretto, a similar paediatric powerchair that offers some additional powered seating functions, while older children should opt for the Quickie Q300M Mini Teens instead.

Prescriptive paediatric powerchairs such as this are built to order following an assessment with one of our Prescriptive Assessors. They are available with a wide range of customisation options, including powered seating functions and control and safety upgrades, and these can affect the price - our assessors will run through all the options at your assessment. As a general guideline, opting for multiple powered seating functions can add significantly to the cost of the wheelchair; however it is possible to get a fully functioning and desirable chair at the base price!

Paediatric powered wheelchairs will often qualify for zero-rated VAT. If the child using the wheelchair has a permanent disability, terminal illness or chronic sickness then they will be eligible for 0% VAT. Our Prescriptive Assessors will be able to answer any questions you may have about VAT.
