Growth and Adjustability
The Twist features built-in growth straight out of the box - no need for the additional parts or a "growth kit" that most other chairs require. 2 inches of seat width growth and 3 inches of seat depth growth allows the Twist to keep up with your child, fitting them for a number of years. Tru-Fit infinite adjustability allows for a more precise fit than traditional adjustment mechanisms, which tend to weaken the frame by drilling holes in it.
Options
Seat widths of 8 - 15 inches and depths of 8 - 16 inches are available, fitting young children to teenagers. Each Twist is custom configured to your child, allowing options and components to be added to meet your needs and optimise your child's riding experience. This includes specialist seating, which is easily clamped to the 1 inch aluminium tubing.
As well as the usual wheels, handrims, tyres brakes, colours and footrests, highlights include the popular centre-mounted push handle option. This is height adjustable (no more stooping down to push!) and easily removable for when it is not needed. The centre-mounted anti-tip with single swivel castor allows your child to develop their wheelchair skills without compromising on their safety.
Transport
The backrest can be folded down and locked in place, with the backrest bar providing a convenient lifting point when transporting the wheelchair. Both rear wheels, and any anti-tips present, are quick-release, allowing them to be popped off to reduce the Twist to a compact, easily transported size.
Appearance
The Twist's appearance can be fully personalised to suit your child, with 16 frame colours to choose from and 6 anodised accent colours. The Twist has a sporty, playful look to it, unlike the "clinical" feel of some children's wheelchairs.
Our Verdict
TiLite's Twist is a well-designed paediatric chair that is both practical and stylish, with in-built growth ensuring it lasts for years. The alternatives to consider are the Zippie Simba, and Ki Mobility's Little Wave Clik. The Clik in particular is worth seeing alongside the Twist, for its dynamic 5th wheel and stroller handle options.
