Progeo Joker Carbon

The Joker Carbon is the lightest model in Progeo's market-leading Joker range of rigid-framed wheelchairs. It is a highly adjustable ultra-light carbon framed wheelchair.

Product Description

Carbon Adjustable Frame

The Joker Carbon is - as the name would suggest - a carbon fibre framed version of the popular Joker model. This makes it much lighter, whilst remaining exceptionally strong - although carbon frames are not generally suitable for power add-ons such as handbikes.

While lighter wheelchairs normally lose their adjustability, the Joker Carbon has the same patented rear axle adjustment plate as found on the regular Joker, offering the ability to alter the setup as your requirements change - rare on carbon framed wheelchairs.

Personalisation

There's no doubt about it, Progeo make some very good looking chairs - unsurprisingly, as a keen eye for design has long been associated with Italian manufacturing. The Joker Carbon has a sleek shape to it, with elegant castor arms and V-shaped front frame. A range of accent colours allow some personalisation to your Joker Carbon, so it can match your style.

It's not just the form you can customise - the function of the Joker is also configurable. Wheels, handrims, tyres, castors, sideguards, push-handles, brakes - every aspect of your Joker can be selected from a range of options to match your requirements. This includes the ability to cater to more complex seating needs with posture supporting backs and pressure-relieving cushions.

Our Verdict

Progeo are market-leaders for carbon fibre wheelchairs, with multiple models, such as the cheaper Duke, flagship Noir 2.0, and folding Ego Carbon. Most other manufacturers manage just one or two models, like Quickie's Krypton R. If you're looking to purchase a high-performance rigid carbon wheelchair, those are the models we'd suggest trying out.
